From storage

Blew the dust off a few bits from the storage crates recently.
A couple of old Kangols from the first place that we could find them in the 80's ( Baker Street ) and a Troop piece from Hawkeye in Harlseden a few years later:

Plus a few old tools of the trade, still smelling of ink after 26 or so years:

Rest in Peace Chuck Brown

Enjoyed a few great shows in London by the legend Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers back in the 80's. From memory, at the Astoria and the one above at what is now the Forum, Kentish Town. This poster adorned my wall for years after cutting it off the layers of bill posters on the bridge by Willesden Junction one night. Time to listen to some Go-Go...

Leaders of the New School live in London, 20th April 1992

Bank Holiday Monday, 20th April back in 1992 and London was treated to Pete Rock and CL Smooth in Hammersmith and Leaders of the New School in the Dada Club ( the old Shaftsbury's / Bar Rumba ).  I chose Leaders and it turned out that you could have probably made it to both shows as it appeared that Dinco, Busta, Charlie and Milo must have gone to Hammersmith too.....as we waited....and waited!
The wait was worth it though, despite the terrible sound system....harmonies, routines...an overall dope, approximately 30 minute performance.
Here's my walkman recording of the show, which truthfully reflects the wack sound system but still captures what Leaders brought late that night:

Whilst digging through my tapes, here they are on Max and Dave's Kiss FM show too, prior to the 20th:
